Eligibility: Open to EveryoneAbout UsThe South Australian Metropolitan Fire Service (MFS) is responsible for protecting the community from the effects of fire, road crashes, chemical incidents and other emergencies.The MFS currently operates 37 fire stations throughout South Australia, including 20 across metropolitan Adelaide and 17 in regional areas across the Yorke Peninsula and Mid North, Far North and Eyre Peninsula, Riverland and Limestone Coast. All MFS fire stations provide emergency response and recovery 24 hours a day, seven days a week.Primary Purpose:The Manager Engineering Workshop is responsible for the operations of workshop staff and the management of the mechanical maintenance and repair. This includes providing timely and accurate financial and nonfinancial data and reports to assist the Infrastructure and Logistics in its strategic management of the Department.The Manager will manage various contractors and suppliers and maintain a consistent and ethical approach to their utilisation. To be a successful contender you will need to have a high level of communication and problem-solving skills to enable effective liaison with both internal and external customers.Essential Qualifications:
- Possess or be prepared to obtain at own expense current:
- An appropriate indentured trade certificate or equivalent tradesperson certificate.
