About the program
EACH is thrilled to announce the launch of our headspace Early Psychosis (hEP) service in Tasmania! This groundbreaking program aims to revolutionize mental health care by providing early detection and intervention for young individuals (aged 12-25) who are at risk of, or experiencing, a first episode of psychosis.

About the role
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Manager to oversee our headspace Early Psychosis Tasmanian Service. As the Manager – headspace Early Psychosis, you will work closely with the Clinical Director, our new headspace to be established on Hobart’s eastern shore and lead agencies of headspace Hobart and Launceston to ensure the safe and effective delivery of mental health services to young people and their families.

As part of the Senior Management team across Tasmania, we envisage this role will be primarily based in Launceston. Travel across Hobart, Burnie and Devonport may also be required.

Key responsibilities:

  • Oversee hEP service delivery in the north and south of the state
  • Enhance access for young people and families through a streamlined entry process
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of the EPPIC model of care with fidelity
  • Establish effective clinical systems and processes to enhance service delivery
  • Provide day-to-day operational oversight to clinical team leaders
  • Work collaboratively with the Clinical Director hEP and headspace teams to ensure effective clinical care for clients and families

Qualifications

To excel in this role, you will demonstrate the following knowledge, skills, and attributes:

  • Tertiary Qualification/s in Nursing, Psychology, Occupational Therapy, or Social Work
  • AHPRA registration or eligibility for membership in your field
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in senior operational and clinical practice roles in child and youth mental health
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and managing multidisciplinary teams
  • Experience in coordinating programs, including administration tasks, budget management, and contract monitoring
  • Proficiency in providing operational and clinical supervision, managing performance, and fostering ongoing development
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills

About headspace
The headspace program offers an “open door”, easily accessible, early intervention service for young people wishing to obtain support for mental health or substance use issues. The headspace Early Psychosis program is a specialist service which focuses on providing comprehensive services to support young people who are at risk of developing a psychotic illness, or those who have experienced a first episode of psychosis.
