About Us

The Magistrates' Court of Victoria (MCV) is a jurisdiction within the Court Services Victoria statutory authority and has a long history of providing justice for the people of Victoria in metropolitan and regional courts across the state. The Court determines in excess of 300,000 cases per annum at 51 venues, equating to approximately 90 percent of all cases that come before Victorian courts each year. The Court aims to be an innovative, accessible, and responsive court that provides quality services to the Victorian community.

The Family Violence Division works across MCV and supports the Court in improving court user experience and access to justice.

The Family Violence Division helps drive the implementation of reforms which include:

  • Expansion and delivery of specialist family violence courts and programs;
  • Infrastructure enhancement and development;
  • Service delivery improvements and delivery, including family violence practitioners, remote hearing support services; and culturally appropriate Koori Court services.

The Practice and Operations Unit supports the judiciary in delivering and continuously improving specialist family violence services, systems, and supports and engaging with key stakeholders and the government.

About the Role

The main responsibilities of the role include is the management and continuous improvement Information Sharing process and practices in line with protocols, ministerial guidelines and the legislative requirements of the:

  • Family Violence Information Sharing Scheme
  • Child Information Sharing Scheme
  • Central Information Point
  • Information Sharing Protocol between Courts and the Family and Federal Courts of Australia; and
  • National Strategic Framework for Information Sharing between the Family Law Court and family violence and child protection systems.

About You

Certificate IV in Government (Court Services) or equivalent Registry qualification, and/or relevant qualification in family violence or another field would be highly regarded.
