The Position
Blacktown City Council is seeking an experienced and inspiring Manager Kids’ Early Learning to take control of their long day care, preschools, before and after school care (OSHC) and family day care services.
The ideal candidate for this role will need to be familiar with and understand early childhood education and care (ECEC). However, more important will be your experience and record of business improvement that produces valued outcomes for customers and a rewarding experience for staff. As the Manager Kids’ Early Learning you will lead the direction of the organisation's childcare business, with a portfolio of 30 childcare centres and a family day care service.
The business has undergone a successful transformation to a teamwork-led, customer service-focused childcare business with the purpose of inspiring every child to care, share and learn from one another every day. The organisation has approximately 300 full-time, part-time and casual staff, serving over 1,700 families each and every weekday.
You will be responsible for implementing key strategies with a focus on business improvement while ensuring that services are delivered in adherence to industry and Council compliance standards and regulations to the Blacktown City community.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement high-quality strategic programs, systems and operational processes to ensure the successful running of the services
- Ensure reporting requirements are monitored, maintained and completed
- Maintain and develop positive relationships and effective communication with the Council’s suppliers
- Develop positive and open professional relationships
- Focus on the increase of business utilisation aligned with the Council 5-year plan
- Manage budget and expenditure within the budget framework
- Ensure all services operate within the centres’ policies and procedures along with licensing, legislation and regulations requirements
- Provided effective support, guidance and mentoring to staff members
- Managing and guiding staff with their professional development & their individual goals and performance
- The ability to work autonomously yet gain input from your experienced operational team

Essential:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications with extensive relevant experience
- The ability to develop and implement a vision for the pro-active and positive development of the organisation
