Job description

We are seeking an experienced Hotel Manager / Management Couple for this busy remote venue located in Far North Queensland. This role would suit an experienced hospitality Manager or management couple with an extensive background in remote venue management with strong gaming and food & beverage experience looking to be a part of a friendly local community.

Covering bar, gaming, restaurant, bistro, bottleshop and accommodation operations, you will join a well-supported group. The successful manager / Management Couple should be looking to join and enhance the existing strong ties to the local community.

Duties: (Full position description Supplied)

  • Effectively oversees the management of all areas of the Hotel, covering bar, gaming, restaurant, bistro, staff management etc.
  • Provides oversight on staff training on all facets of the of Hotel operations (as appropriate)
  • Plans for and manages hotel rosters and allocation of duties to ensure the correct level of staffing and the right mix of skills to enable the delivery of high quality customer service
  • Liaises with suppliers to ensure the Hotel is getting the right products at the right price
  • Enforces Workplace Health & Safety Policy and maintains WHS Management Systems
  • Provides advice on effective stock management levels to ensure appropriate stocking and turnover of goods
  • Provides leadership to operational team members in Gaming Operations, ensuring adherence to policies for the provision of responsible gaming services
  • Working with key Hotel staff, approves and drives effective marketing campaigns utilising cross promotional opportunities where available
  • Actively networks amongst the community to encourage loyalty and understand customer/ community needs
  • Ensures the presentation of the Hotel is maintained in front and back of house areas including cleanliness and merchandise
  • Oversees and monitors key operational Hotel staff for the provision of:
    • The responsible service of alcohol
    • The responsible service of gaming
    • Preparation, service and handling of food
  • Provides leadership to key operational Hotel staff in relation to entertainment for the hotel, including live band bookings, noise control, WHS as related to entertainment, and managing communication
  • Proactively mentors key operational Hotel staff including Approved Managers, high performers and junior team members

Candidate:

  • Ability to lead a team of up to 35 staff
  • Must be willing to live and work in a remote location
  • Have previous experience in a similar management position
  • Strong knowledge of Food & Beverage, accommodation & gaming operations 
  • Be able to work as part of a team
  • Able to obtain a National Police Clearance
  • Hold or be willing to obtain RMLV, Approved Managers & Gaming License
