Job description

The Manager Patient Transport Services (PTS) – North and South is responsible for ensuring excellence in the delivery of PTS in their allocated deployment area within South East Queensland (SEQ), through strong leadership and the effective management of human, financial and physical resources.

The role will ensure the provision of best practice deployment models, coordination of non-urgent ambulance responses and manage the activities and budgets of PTS within a dynamic emergency services environment.

The Manager PTS – North and South will play a crucial role in strategic planning, improving service efficiencies, enhancing client liaison and ensuring the long-term financial viability and sustainability of the Patient Transport service in their allocated area of accountability.

We are seeking applicants who, within the context of the role responsibilities, possess the following key attributes:

  • Well developed leadership skills with demonstrated capabilities and experience in managing the complex and diverse coordination of pre-hospital care delivery, within an often demanding operational and non-urgent emergency service environment.
  • Detailed knowledge and understanding of contemporary issues affecting the delivery of ambulance services and proven ability to understand and apply relevant business and resource management principles to support the provision of high quality pre-hospital patient care to the Queensland community.
  • Proven ability to lead and inspire large, diverse, professional teams, in an environment of competing priorities and needs with finite resources.
  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to strategic planning and the provision of policy advice, in particular, contributing to the development and implementation of operational policies, standards and service improvement initiatives.
  • Demonstrated highly developed communication, negotiation, consultation and collaboration skills and the ability to build and maintain productive relationships with partners and key stakeholders, in particular, Queensland Health Hospital and Health Services (HHS) throughout Queensland.
