Manager Safeguarding

Catholic Education Tasmania is a community of thirty-eight schools and colleges serving over 17,000 students, their families and over 2,400 employees across Tasmania.

Reporting to the Executive Manager: People Services, you will be responsible for the promotion of a child safety culture through the development of practical and legislatively compliant child safety policies, procedures, and training.

As Manager Safeguarding, you will:

• Conducting fair and accurate investigations of all allegations against employees in accordance with the relevant Child Safety legislation and industrial instruments.
• Provide support and advice regarding child protection/safeguarding-related policies, practices, and legislative obligations.
• Provide support and advice to school principals, school staff, and the wider school community in relation to all aspects of child protection and safeguarding.

Some of the skills and experiences we are looking for are:

• Post tertiary qualifications or 5 years of relevant industry experience in investigations.
• Knowledge of child-safe standards and practices and their application in an education setting.
• The ability to work with a high degree of autonomy.
• An ability to provide effective advice and support in relation to safeguarding issues.
