We now have an exciting opportunity for a Manager Software Engineering (Integrations) to join our team. This fulltime, continuing role can be based at our Townsville Bebegu Yumba campus or Cairns in picturesque tropical North Queensland. Remuneration is $119,074 - $125,947 per annum plus up to 17% employer superannuation contributions, leave loading and other generous employee benefits.
WHAT YOU CAN ACCOMPLISH IN THE ROLEAs an experienced and skilled IT professional you will lead the delivery and support of JCU’s enterprise application and integration technologies.
- Oversee Software Engineering service delivery, ensuring consistency, informed decision-making, and compliance to mitigate risks and drive best practice methods.
- Drive the design and development of enterprise solutions, focusing on seamless integration and scalability, ensuring end-to-end delivery of projects within scope, budget, and timeline.
- Develop and implement Software Engineering best practices, including automated testing, secure by design, test-driven development, and other relevant methodologies.
- Provide strategic recommendations for technology strategies related to software development and service integration.
- Manage and maintain relationships with vendors, ensuring effective collaboration and leveraging external expertise where necessary.
- Identify and facilitate continuous improvement initiatives and projects within the Software Engineering domain.
In a position of leadership, you will mentor and manage a team of skilled Systems Engineers, providing guidance, support and development opportunities whilst fostering a culture of continual improvement.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE- You will hold relevant degree qualifications.
- Proven experience in Software Engineering management, with a focus on integrations.
- In-depth knowledge of software development practices and methodologies, including extensive knowledge and experience in DevSecOps and software development.
- Advanced project management skills, proficient in agile methodologies and a proven record of delivering successful large ICT infrastructure project implementations that achieve strategic business outcomes.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to set goals and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment, fostering a culture of high-performance, teamwork and innovation.
- Demonstrated high-level verbal communication and interpersonal skills with proven ability to maintain working relationships external vendors and internal customers.
