The role of Maintenance Manager provides operational supervision of the Tasmania Prison Service (TPS) Maintenance Division. - Provide high level support and advice to the Manager Industries and Facilities, the TPS Senior Management Team (SMT) and others as required in the management of maintenance for the TPS.
- To oversight and report on compliance and delivery of requirements outlined in the TPS Maintenance Contract and liaise with external contractors to ensure service delivery.
- Manage the Asset Register and essential and non-essential maintenance to ensure compliance with legislative, statutory and organizational requirements.
- Manage the delivery of strategic, restorative and other maintenance as required.
- Undertake a project management role to co-ordinate minor works for the TPS, as well as preparation of specifications and scope for minor capital works.
- Manage the human, physical and financial resources of the TPS Maintenance Department within agency guidelines, providing leadership to staff, whilst promoting effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist the Manager Industries and Facilities as required in the management of Work Health and Safety (WHS) within the organization, including ensuring compliance with the Tasmania WHS Act.
- Manage and report on compliance with Maintenance Department operational and security requirements in line with the Tasmania Prison Service Performance and Compliance Framework and related policies.
- Manage TPS building and engineering service drawings to ensure they are current and compliant with requirements.

- A relevant qualification, skill, or demonstrated employment background in engineering, management, and/or project management is also desirable.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a comparable role.
- A current and valid driver's licence.
