Job description

  • Opportunity to apply an innovative approach to deliver engaging and interactive events and promotional activities within the STEM College
  • Full time, fixed term (2 year) position
  • Salary level HEW 8, based at the City Campus

About You

As the Manager - STEM College Events, you will lead a small and dynamic team to deliver high quality, engaging and interactive events across the College and Schools. You will play a pivotal role in developing the College's events plan, supporting the launch of new initiatives that align with the university's strategic objectives of enhancing the student experience and increasing staff engagement.

Additionally, this role will see you:

  • Support the planning and lead the implementation of key College and School marketing and promotional events
  • Work closely with stakeholders of all levels across the College and broader University
  • Apply an innovative approach to deliver engaging and interactive events and promotional activity.

To be successful in this position, you'll have:

  • Demonstrated experience in developing and executing successful physical and virtual events, within a complex environment
  • Proven track record of thinking outside the box to deliver creative and impactful experiences while effectively collaborating with diverse stakeholders and ensuring alignment to strategic objectives
  • Strong project management skills with demonstrated capability to manage logistics, budgeting, vendor relationships and timelines effectively to ensure seamless event delivery
  • Experience in working with new media and digital technology to foster innovation and enhance results
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to encourage a workplace culture of high performance and accountability for outcomes
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills including ability to influence and negotiate effectively at all levels to establish strong effective networks with a range of internal, local and offshore stakeholders and manage/cement strategic partnerships.

Desirable

  • Previous experience working in a university environment or similar educational setting.
  • Proficiency in In-design or Canva (or similar tools)
