As the Manager Sustainability (Environment), your role is pivotal in leading the Council’s sustainability, environment, waste, and land management initiatives. Your focus is on shaping the city’s infrastructure and programs, ensuring they meet community needs with a customer-centric approach.
Working closely with the Executive Manager Environment, you’ll oversee programs like our Sustainability Strategy, Environment Management, Waste Management, and Emergency Management, leading a team in lake maintenance, irrigation, and CBD amenity. Your role involves providing leadership, implementing and reviewing strategic plans, managing land and environment plans, and overseeing waste services and contracts.
The ideal candidate holds tertiary qualifications in Environmental Management, with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in waste, land conservation, and/or environment management. Demonstrated leadership in managing teams, projects, and contracts is essential, along with the ability to prepare operational and strategic plans. Strong communication skills, a positive safety attitude, and a passion for sustainability are prerequisites.
A generous Total Remuneration Package from $130K to $140K will be negotiated based on the preferred candidate’s skills, abilities, and experience.
