Job description

About the program

Primary Health Networks (PHN) across the ACT and NSW have been funded by the Commonwealth Department of Health and Aged Care to deliver the Workforce Planning and Prioritisation (WPP) Program across the region with Capital Health Network as the Lead Agency.

The WPP team manages the state-wide implementation of the Workforce Planning and Prioritisation Program to deliver workforce planning needs assessment, identify training and capacity requirements, and mapping training pathways and GP training placements for the ACT and NSW.

The WPP Program will provide advice on community workforce needs to the Department of Health and Aged Care to inform the Australian General Practice Training (AGPT) distribution targets. It will also provide advice on AGPT training capacity and pathways to support and encourage registrars to establish a home in a region, settle there and complete training within that region.

About the role

The WPP Manager will lead the collection and development of high-quality evidence to inform where the community needs more primary care workforce in the ACT and NSW, and provide guidance, coaching and support to the WPP data and research team. The WPP Manager will ensure quality and consistency of data analysis, business intelligence, data visualisation and dashboarding to inform where the capacity of general practice training could be enhanced.
