Job description

About the role

The Workforce Planning and Prioritisation Project Officer will support the development, implementation and management of the Workforce Planning and Prioritisation (WPP) Program. The Project Officer will engage with stakeholders to understand GP registrar training opportunities and capacity in the ACT.

This role will also be responsible for supporting quality improvement within primary care, as well as contributing to the development and implementation of other quality improvement projects and delivering CHN strategy initiatives. This will include cross team collaboration, monitoring the progress, coordination, reporting and evaluation of projects, and may include internal and external committee representation.

About the team

The Project Officer will work within the Quality Improvement (QI) Team, which works closely with the primary care workforce across the sector and across all Business Units within CHN. The team provides support to general practices in the ACT by supporting continuous quality improvement, delivering high quality education, and fostering networking opportunities to deliver person-centred care at the right time and at the right place.

The Project Officer will collaborate closely with the WPP Team to provide independent, evidence-based advice to inform the geographic distribution and placement of GP registrars to meet the community’s current and future GP workforce needs.

See yourself in our team

This is an exciting time with changes occurring in how communities seek and receive primary care. As a member of the QI Team, you will have the opportunity to support general practices as they implement new initiatives announced as part of the Strengthening Medicare Taskforce Report, the 10-Year Primary Health Care Plan and the National Digital Health Strategy. Your ability to develop and implement projects will see you contributing to the CHN Strategic Plan.

While you will work within the QI Team and report to the Manager Quality Improvement, you will also collaborate closely with the WPP Team. You will lead ACT WPP stakeholder engagement to build a strong platform for joint local Planning and stakeholder confidence in WPP Team outputs. Using your strong interpersonal skills and ability to draw insights from qualitative and quantitative data, you will contribute to recommendations on GP training locations in the ACT.

As part of working at an innovative organisation, you will also contribute to process improvement and broader CHN projects and initiatives.

Work location

This position is based in our Deakin office. We support flexibility and a hybrid work model at CHN and are happy to work with the successful candidate to ensure balance between work and life.
