About the organisation
Melbourne Water is a vital organisation committed to delivering high-quality water, sanitation, and sustainable water management solutions to the community. The organisation prides itself on fostering a flexible, supportive and inclusive work environment where every team member can make a real difference. Melbourne Water's dedication to excellence and innovation drives it to continuously seek talented individuals who share its passion for shaping the future of water management.
About the role
The Manager, Business Insights and Improvement assumes a crucial leadership position in Melbourne Water's newly formed Transformation & Effectiveness team which is part of the People & Transformation Portfolio. Reporting to the Head of Transformation and Effectiveness and leading a team of Business Analysts and the Change Management Advisory function, this role is responsible for driving continuous improvement, facilitating data-driven decision-making, and supporting strategic initiatives that enhance organisational effectiveness and maximise performance. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, seeking to understand the business requirements and connect with the customer, the team will utilise in-depth analysis and detailed BUSINESS INSIGHTS, a broad set of improvement techniques and well-developed problem-solving capability to design and implement innovative solutions and ensure sustainable change within the organisation.
About you
A senior leader and business improvement generalist with extensive experience gained in complex operational environments and relevant sectors (including utilities/manufacturing/mining & resources), you will ideally be qualified in Engineering &/or Business Administration with the project management style and design thinking capability required. A skilled people leader who enjoys coaching and mentoring teams, you are proven in your ability to manage change and business improvement in large enterprise-wide transformation environments. Whilst your exceptional problem-solving capability, analytical mind-set and process optimisation skills will be essential (including proficiency in methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, and TQM), it is your ability to understand and connect with your customer, collaborate and communicate complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders that will be your key to success.
