Position Overview: As a Manufacturing Accountant you will play a crucial role in optimising our manufacturing and financial processes. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, you will contribute to cost analysis, inventory management, and strategic decision-making. This role provides a unique opportunity to be a key player in a rapidly expanding company with a global footprint.
Responsibilities:
- Cost Accounting:
- Implement and maintain robust cost accounting systems to accurately capture manufacturing costs.
- Conduct regular cost analyses, identifying areas for improvement and cost optimisation.
- Inventory Management:
- Oversee inventory accounting processes, ensuring accurate valuation and reconciliation.
- Implement best practices to minimise inventory holding costs and enhance inventory turnover.
- SLOB Analysis:
- Perform thorough analysis of slow-moving and obsolete inventory, developing strategies to mitigate financial impact.
- Collaborate with supply chain and sales teams to optimize inventory levels and prevent SLOB situations.
- Financial Reporting:
- Generate manufacturing-related financial reports, providing insights into performance and trends.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes related to manufacturing activities.
- Budgeting and Forecasting:
- Assist in the development of manufacturing budgets and forecasts.
- Monitor and report on actual performance against budgeted targets.
- Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for process improvements in manufacturing operations.
- Collaborate with operations teams to implement efficiency enhancements.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA/CA qualification is advantageous.
- Proven experience as a Manufacturing Accountant, preferably in the food industry.
- Strong expertise in cost accounting, inventory management, and SLOB analysis.
- Familiarity with ERP systems; experience with systems like SAP is a plus.
