Experiencing significant growth, they are seeking a skilled Manufacturing Accountant to join their team and contribute to the business's ongoing success. Position Overview: As a Manufacturing Accountant you will play a crucial role in optimising our manufacturing and financial processes. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, you will contribute to cost analysis, inventory management, and strategic decision-making. This role provides a unique opportunity to be a key player in a rapidly expanding company with a global footprint.
Responsibilities:
  • Cost Accounting:
  • Implement and maintain robust cost accounting systems to accurately capture manufacturing costs.
  • Conduct regular cost analyses, identifying areas for improvement and cost optimisation.
  • Inventory Management:
  • Oversee inventory accounting processes, ensuring accurate valuation and reconciliation.
  • Implement best practices to minimise inventory holding costs and enhance inventory turnover.
  • SLOB Analysis:
  • Perform thorough analysis of slow-moving and obsolete inventory, developing strategies to mitigate financial impact.
  • Collaborate with supply chain and sales teams to optimize inventory levels and prevent SLOB situations.
  • Financial Reporting:
  • Generate manufacturing-related financial reports, providing insights into performance and trends.
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes related to manufacturing activities.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting:
  • Assist in the development of manufacturing budgets and forecasts.
  • Monitor and report on actual performance against budgeted targets.
  • Process Improvement:
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements in manufacturing operations.
  • Collaborate with operations teams to implement efficiency enhancements.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA/CA qualification is advantageous.
  • Proven experience as a Manufacturing Accountant, preferably in the food industry.
  • Strong expertise in cost accounting, inventory management, and SLOB analysis.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems; experience with systems like SAP is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
