Overview:
Multi Slide Industries is an Australian company and is a leader in the manufacture of formed wire and strip components.
Reporting to the General Manager, the role is responsible for managing product / equipment introduction in line with project milestones. Quotation and customer liaison, including the design and manufacture of jigs and fixtures, and the introduction of new products to production.
Key Responsibilities:
- Must take responsibility for personal health & safety, accepting duty of care so as not to endanger others, cause property damage or material loss.
- Prepare quotations and communicate with customers effectively.
- CAD of parts and tool design using Space-Claim program.
- Work as part of a cross-functional team to aid and develop process, materials, manning, cycle time, changes.
- Liaise with other departments and co-ordinate changes.
- Support Tooling and Maintenance departments as required.
Requirements:
- A tertiary qualification in Mechanical and or Industrial Engineering is required, combined with industry experience in Production / Manufacturing Engineering and / or process development activities.
- The ability to interpret and create engineering drawings using CAD.
- Ability to communicate to all levels of personnel, the ability to work in a team environment as well as autonomously on task.
- A positive “can do” attitude.
Desirable Skills:
- Toolmaking background viewed favourably.
- Customer service.
- Experience managing small project introductions.
- Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, Kanban and 5S.
