Job description

  • Vision to build a world-class manufacturing company
  • Strong growth trajectory with large investment in manufacturing
  • Target to transform existing plant, then develop next plant (10x capacity)

Significant capital projects roadmap. Manufacturing Transformation Program. Strong demand growth from global mining sector. Brisbane based (with relocation if required).

Our Vision

Our vision is to build a world-class manufacturing company. We want to be the best in the world at what we do. Develop the best products and manufacture them in world-class operations.

We Are Looking for the Best Manufacturing Talent

If you’ve done exceptional work in manufacturing, we can provide you with plenty of tough problems to solve. We believe nothing worth doing was ever easy and that solving tough problems makes for satisfying work. We have a transformation and scale-up program to execute at our Brisbane plant. Then we will build our second plant to support our international expansion. This growth creates opportunities for high achievers to develop and progress fast.

Manufacturing Engineer Role

We are currently recruiting for two high-performing Manufacturing Engineers. These roles will be part of the small team driving the transformation of our manufacturing system. Each Manufacturing Engineer will have responsibility for the continuous improvement and Manufacturing Engineering for a specific value stream (production line). They will also support major capital projects required to scale up capacity and vertically integrate our existing Brisbane plant. Later, there will be the opportunity to work on the project for our next ‘mega plant’ to support international expansion.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Manufacturing engineering
  • Manufacturing process development
  • LEAN continuous improvement
  • Reliability & maintenance
  • Manufacturing technology & equipment
  • Project management

This role will report directly to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager (with a dotted line report to the Manufacturing Manager for their allocated value stream). It is based at our Brisbane plant located in Salisbury (with relocation if required). Progression opportunities will be available for high-performers.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will be a high-performing Manufacturing Engineer looking for the hardest Manufacturing Engineering challenge available. You will be a problem solver who is always looking for a better way. You will be highly committed, hard-working and ambitious. You will believe in the power of technology and harnessing it to do things faster-cheaper-better. You will be a strong ‘first principles thinker’ who can engage with technical subjects across a range of disciplines. You will be passionate about manufacturing and a true believer in the power of Lean.

You will ideally have the following experience:

  • Engineering degree qualified (strong academic results)
  • Manufacturing engineering experience (ideally in discrete manufacturing)
  • Hands-on LEAN implementation experience
  • Ideally – exposure to manufacturing capital projects (new process, equipment, etc)
  • Ideally – exposure to robotic automation of manufacturing processes

Why This Role?

This is an opportunity for a high-performing Manufacturing Engineer to test themselves in a fast-moving manufacturing environment.

Key reasons this is an excellent opportunity for the right person are:

  • Autonomy – have responsibility for Manufacturing Engineering on your own value stream.
  • Excellence – be part of an Australian company striving to become a world-class manufacturer.
  • Commitment – commitment from the owner to invest strongly in manufacturing.
  • Test Yourself – lots of challenging manufacturing problems to solve on accelerated timeline.
  • Opportunity – development and progression opportunities available for high-performers.
