About the role?
The role of Manufacturing Test Engineer reports to the Team Leader Test Engineering and will be responsible for developing and delivering automated production test software and hardware to support the manufacturing of existing and new manufacturing processes.
Key requirements will include:
- Design, install and commission to production, automated test processes, test equipment, jigs, fixtures, and control mechanisms.
- Document test procedures, results, and any changes made to the testing process.
- Collaborate with design engineers during new product introduction to ensure that designs are suitable for manufacturing and test automation.
- Define test measures and controls to be applied during manufacturing production and preproduction activities.
- Analyse test data to identify trends, patterns, and potential areas for improvement in the manufacturing process.
- Maintain and optimise existing test procedures to ensure sustainability of product quality and production throughput.
- Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by suggesting process enhancements and participating in design reviews.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in electronics testing methodologies.
What makes a successful Manufacturing Test Engineer within our team at Minelab?
In order to be successful in your application for this newly created position within a growing and developing team, you will be a degree qualified in Electronic or Mechatronics Engineering, or related field and have demonstrated experience within a complex Manufacturing Test Engineering environment, ideally within an electronics manufacturing business. Additionally, you will possess in-depth understanding in writing automation software, preferably in LabVIEW and/or Python and a proven ability in delivering complex project activities. This opportunity will align with candidates looking to grow on their existing Test Engineering experience within a supportive and engaged team.
