About the role 

Intertek Testing Services (AUS) Ltd. is part of a World Leading organization in Assurance, Testing, Inspection and Certification.

We are looking to find an Experienced Mariner to pursue a long-term career with Intertek in a role as a “Marine Surveyor”. 

We have an opportunities in Tasmania (Hobart, Bell Bay), South Australia (Adelaide) and Victoria (Portland). This is a full-time employment position.  A competitive remuneration pack, to be offered dependent on qualifications, experience and the package chosen.

The role will include below but not limited to the following:

• Marine Surveying that includes loading planning and superintendence of Timber cargo on Bulk Carriers.
• Vessel Cargo Gear inspections
• Vessel condition, On and Off Hire Surveys
• Vessel Condition Surveys
• Bunker Surveys
• General Cargo Surveys & Draft Surveys
• Sampling & Gauging of Petroleum, Petrochemical, Tallow and any other commodities
• Calculations & Reporting
• Inspection of container loadings
• Collecting and disposing of Hydrocarbon samples from customer sites
• Sample labelling, registering and storage requirements.
• Travelling to other ports for Inspection related work. 

We are looking for an experienced Mariner with at least 3 years sailing experience.

Marine background as a Deck Officer preferably on Bulk Carriers with Cargo Gear and further, sailing experience on log carriers would be an added advantage.

Those with a Marine Engineering background will not be considered for these roles.

This will be a hands-on role that involves extensive work in the Marine, Dry Cargo & possibly Petroleum areas, for which training will be provided.
