AddressOur client, a well-established national financing business that services the Automotive Sector, provides finance facilities to its members via trading accounts whilst serving as a key facilitator in bringing its members and preferred suppliers together.
The business presently requires the skills of a Market Research Analyst (Category Specialist) to provide support to their automotive business on a six-month contract basis. The role will entail conducting an analysis of different market categories in both the automotive and allied sectors to facilitate the development of associated market studies and category management plans for the business.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting the Head of Business Development in developing and managing a category management approach to the management of preferred suppliers.
- Undertaking market analysis to build a category management structure containing various categories to support the development of category management plans.
- Analyse the existing preferred supplier product and service range to understand the breadth, scope, and value of the supply market.
- Analyse the existing membership base to define the markets served and corresponding value.
- Develop, maintain, and continually review a category management structure for implementation that allows targeted sales, marketing, and product development.
- Undertake detailed Market Research by Category and State to identify key stakeholders and market segments.
- Conduct competition analysis by category and market.
- Undertake heatmap analysis to align member location to supply to provide insight into supplier coverage.
- Develop commercial models by category, considering the margins by category of suppliers, by region and by subcategory.
- Develop and maintain a database of product and service margins and associated services.
- Salary - $96k per annum plus super plus annual leave (prorated for term of contract).

About you:
- Proven experience in Market Research and analysis.
- Research experience in automotive or related industrial sectors preferred.
- A passion for how the Automotive and allied sectors work.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills. Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of an organisation and varied stakeholders.
- Tertiary qualification in business, marketing, or commerce.
- Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) including Advanced Excel.
- Only Australian citizens or permanent residents will be considered for this role.
- As our client is an authorised financial services provider, shortlisted candidates will be required to undergo National Police Clearance, Anti-money laundering and other relevant checks as required by the financial services industry.
