About the Opportunity:

As our Match Day Manager – Cairns, you will act as the primary point of contact in the venue for the NBL at every game. This role is imperative to maintaining the integrity of the NBL competition and assisting the NBL’s ability to deliver a premium sports entertainment product.
  
To be successful in this role you’ll have hands-on experience working within large-scale events and you’ll have some understanding of the compliance requirements involved. You will possess the ability to communicate with internal and external stakeholders and be confident in your ability to enforce various NBL rules specific to game day.
  
The Match Day Manager is a casual position for the 24/25 Season and requires you to be physically present in the venue on game day – with the induction and training period commencing before the season kicks-off. 
  
Key Responsibilities:
  
Pre-Game

  • Conduct a safety and OH&S review of the playing court and surrounds.
  • Oversee the implementation and enforcement of various NBL Rules.
  • Perform uniform reviews of game officials and teams.
  • Support the in-venue statistician in performing their role.
  • Support the NBL Replay Centre as requested.
In Game
  • Receive and respond to notifications from the NBL Replay Centre and rectify any issues during the game in a timely manner.
  • Continue to enforce various NBL Rules and report on breaches to the NBL.
  • Assist in the identification of courtsiders and unruly spectators, including compiling evidence to assist the Integrity Officer with any further investigation.
  • Ensure the safety of all players and game officials.
Post-Game
  • Ensure the safe departure from the venue of game officials.
  • Oversee the conclusion of various NBL Rules post-game.
  • Complete any post-match reports as required by the NBL. 
  • Liaise with Club and Venue concerning any issues that may have arisen during the game.
About the Ideal Candidate:
  • Relevant experience in monitoring and management of rules and regulations in major event settings.
  • Experience in a professional sporting environment (desired but not essential).
  • Proven ability to remain calm and composed in high-stress situations.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build and maintain professional relationships.
