Reporting to the Sales Manager - Products, we are looking for a Sales Engineer to be integral to our Australian business, who will provide client solutions in materials testing product sales and service.

About you:

• Skills and experience with materials testing machines.
• Provide, high-level customer service to new and existing clients.
• Demonstrate an ability to achieve targets, forecasting and budget requirements.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Strong attention to detail such as completion of business system records.

Skills and experience:

• Customer focused with the ability to manage multiple client relationships.
• Technical background in Material Testing engineering.
• Proven and strong leadership skills.
• Ability to genuinely connect with internal stakeholders.
• Transparent and open communication style and ability to maintain good client relationships.
• Experience with OH&S code of conduct and protocols advantageous.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Respond promptly to inquiries and call upon potential customers to identify their needs for products and services and qualify leads. 
• Generate proposals/quotations in accordance with standard Trescal procedures and pricing guidelines. 
• Place orders on suppliers, monitor the progress of deliverables and respond as needed to any issues that may arise in the delivery of the equipment to the customer site.
• Build successful relationships with key decision makers and influencers in existing and prospective customers. 
• Develop and maintain knowledge and expertise of the following areas to enhance sales effectiveness:
• Material testing capabilities, products, components and services and how they apply to customer needs.
• Test methodology and test technologies, and how to apply procedural offerings to satisfy specific customer requirements.
• Customer base, customer organisations, customer needs and market trends affecting customers.
• Continuously monitor and respond to competitor activities and provide timely reporting on competitive activity to sales management.
• When requested; provide assistance on Material Testing post sales, to field services within Australia and New Zealand including:
• Attend Material Testing Sales meetings and factory training courses as required.
• Other duties as assigned by the Procurement Sales Manager and or Managing Director/General Manager.

Qualifications:

• Technical / Professional Selling Courses (desirable)

Working conditions:

• Normal working conditions.
• Monday to Friday – 8.00am to 4.30pm
• May be some regional, interstate, and overseas work at times.

Physical requirements

• Some lifting of equipment
