Our client is a successful family-owned Gold Coast manufacturing business supplying products to the mining industry across Australia and overseas. As an established brand, they have a strong reputation as a market leader that prides itself on delivering reliable and quality products backed up with excellent customer support.
Due to strong strategic growth they are now seeking a Mechanical Draftsperson, who is experienced in Solidworks, to assist in the translation of existing 2D product drawings, into detailed 3D drawings. Knowledge of steel fabrication and integrating factory workflows and processes into high quality outputs will be essential. Ideally, you’ll enjoy solving tricky problems, have an eye for detail with a strong focus on quality outputs and enjoy working in a flexible and dynamic team environment.
Please Note: Remote working arrangements aren’t available and full time attendance at their Gold Coast facility will be required.

Working within the engineering team, you’ll be responsible for a range of tasks and deliverables, including:
- Translating existing 2D product drawings into detailed 3D Solidworks models
- Utilising those 3D models to deliver high quality Solidworks 2D manufacturing drawings
- Providing sound updates and improvements to existing products
- Produce bill of materials and build specifications required for manufacturing
- Updating or creating content for technical documents such as user manuals, product datasheets, manufacturing processes, etc
We’re seeking mechanical draftsperson with experience in industrial equipment design:
- Expertise with SolidWorks is essential
- Strong understanding of low volume manufacturing, particularly machining and metal fabrication
- Sound understanding of Australian Standards for mechanical engineering drawings
- Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems will be highly regarded
- Ability to self-start, take ownership of assigned tasks and work autonomously
- Strong oral and written English communication skills
- MUST be living on the Gold Coast and have full Australian working rights
