About the Role
The purpose of this position is to commission and install equipment sold by Columbit, liaising proactively with customer, supplier, and internal project team; and undertake after-sales service repairs, maintenance, and upgrades for customers. The Technician plays an important role in maintaining high quality customer and supplier relationships exemplifying Columbit’s motto: ‘On your side; at your side’.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- Developing technical drawings, plans, and designs for Mechanical Engineering projects.
- Verifying that designs and completed work adhere to specifications, regulations, and contractual requirements.
- Installation and commissioning of Columbit machines and hydraulic power systems.
- Managing and overseeing the inspection and maintenance of machinery.
- Conduct machine demonstrations with product and customer's operator/technical personnel.
- Ensuring that designs and completed projects meet specified requirements, comply with regulations, and adhere to contract term.
Qualification, Experience and Skills Required:
- 4+ years’ experience working autonomously as a Mechanical Engineering Technician across various sites.
- Preferred experience in working with food production equipment and/or similar.
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Be comfortable dealing with mechanical equipment, including fault-finding and repair.
- Problem-solving, solution focused approach.
