Description
As part of the project we will design, manufacture, and maintain 246 new railcars needed for METRONET projects and the replacement of the A-series trains. We will also deliver 6 DMU railcars to replace the five diesel railcars that operate the twice daily Australind service between Perth and Bunbury.
Reporting to the Production Supervisor, this role would see you perform all mechanical installations to complete the assembly of the train, where no day will be the same!
Role duties include;
- Read and interpret technical drawings.
- To install and assemble railway vehicle components using hand and power tools.
- To use lifting and other equipment like overhead cranes for the installation, replacement, and alignment of subassemblies and components.
- Ensure efficient planning and safe execution of all work in the Bogie Shop and Assembly workshop, adhering to customer and Alstom standards.
- To follow work safety standards and procedures as required onsite.
Profile
- Certificate III in Mechanical Trade
- Ability to read and follow detailed work instructions.
- Experience in production or assembly would be great but not mandatory.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
