Position: Mechanical Reliability EngineerSalary: $130,000 to $150,000 + super + $25,000 site allowance + $12,000 Residential allowance + STI

Job Summary
Provide Mechanical Reliability Engineering solutions to a sulfuric acid manufacturing plant. Enjoy a rewarding career either residential in Mount Isa (preferred) or FIFO from Brisbane. This role is tasked with ensuring peak plant performance and strategic engineering planning and vision which will drive the plant into the future.

- To contribute to the Mechanical Engineering and Reliability across the plant
- Deliver peak process plant performance
- Support Maintenance, Planning, Engineering, and Operations
- Manage and predict maintenance of this hazardous facility
- Motivate for capital expenditure
- Support Major Turnaround Projects
- Coordinate collaboration between departments and steak holders
- Implement continuous improvement actions and optimisation of assets
- Increase uptime, eliminate defects, and mitigate risks
- Inspect assets, write reports and recommend remedial action
- Be able to handle a high degree of stress and competing priorities
Significant experience in operational mechanical engineering and reliability management.
- Experience with ammonia, phosphoric acid, sulfuric acid, or other chemical processes is essential.
- Previous major turnaround experience in a similar sized facility
- Strong understanding of statistical analysis and root cause failure analysis
- Experience in risk identification (HAZOP, HAZID, SIL’s)
- Solid tenure track record
- Management and motivating for capital budgets
- Current RPEQ, CPEng, NER would be an advantage
- Bachelor of Engineering degree in Process / Chemical / Mechanical
- Thorough knowledge of Queensland and National codes and standards
- Knowledge of piping and pressure vessel standards and codes
- Experience in NDT techniques and RBI Systems
- SAP, CMMS and MS Office experience
