About The Role
We are seeking a Mechanical Technician to join the Maintenance team at our Cataby operation.
The Cataby mining operation is located near the Town of Dandaragan, approximately 150 kilometres north of Perth. The position is offered on a Drive in Drive out (DIDO) basis, on a family-friendly 7/7 roster, which consists of 7 days on, 7 days off, 7 nights on 7 days off.
This fast-paced role will require a high level of attention to detail with exceptional teamwork and communication skills. You will have demonstrated organisational skills and the ability prioritise and complete tasks under limited supervision.
Reporting to the Maintenance Coordinator, the primary function of the role is to assist in the optimisation of plant availability by carrying out maintenance of fixed plant equipment in accordance with established Iluka standards, including safety and environmental procedures.
Key elements of the role include:
- Complete daily maintenance inspections and repairs to plant as per weekly plan
- Ensure all maintenance works are captured within SAP
- Demonstrated proactive approach to safety and the environment
- Ensure all duties are carried out safely in line with the Iluka practices and procedures
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting of all events and hazards
- Actively support and participate in the company’s continuous improvement principles
About You
To be successful for this role, you will have:
- Mechanical trade certificate
- Proactive approach to safety and the environment
- Proven experience in a similar role maintaining fixed plant equipment including Warman pumps, conveyors, trommels, scrubbers, screens, sizers, chutes and valves
- SAP experience - raising notifications, creating work orders, booking out parts and time confirmations
- Ability to scope, plan and execute your own jobs
- Unrestricted WA C Class Drivers Licence (HR) Desirable
- High-risk tickets - Crane ticket (CN), Dogman (DG), Forklift (LF) and Work platform (EWP) are highly Desirable
