About the role

Due to ongoing expansion, Intertek is currently seeking a trainee to join the Adelaide Team. Reporting to the Branch Manager, this role has ownership of servicing clients' needs relative to Mechanical Testing techniques that are in line with Intertek policies and procedures, client quality standards and National Association of Testing Authorities (NATA) requirements. With great emphasis placed on accurate, and error free reporting, this role would ideally suit a candidate ready to grow into a process driven, self-managed officer, who prides themselves in their high attention to detail.

Key Areas of Responsibilities

  • Performing Mechanical Testing within company, client, and regulatory standard, with accuracy, and in manner which results in positive customer feedback, and meets internal audit requirements
  • Ensuring that all work undertaken is carried out in a timely and cost effective manner
  • Ensuring Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) standards are maintained, and that all work areas are free from risk to persons, equipment, and the natural environment by identifying, assessing and controlling workplace hazards
  • Ensuring that all work activities meet relevant legislative requirements as outlined by NATA
  • Assuming the face of Intertek in all company representative matters, to all Intertek clients and NATA personnel, as well as other stakeholders

Skills and experience

The essential requirements of this role include:

  • An appetite to learn and grow in a technical role.
  • Demonstrated written and oral skills
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Willing to travel to remote sites.
  • Continuous improvement mind  set and a strong customer focus

Additional skills that are desirable but not required:

  • Proven performance in team situations
  • Previous experience in Heavy industry/construction/mining.
  • Ability to read technical drawings
  • Experience in working with ISO Quality Systems
  • Ability to use Microsoft word and excel.
