The ALS Food & Pharma business in Melbourne continues to thrive, with these entry-level opportunities arising with our Microbiology team at Scoresby. Two full-time roles are available:
- Mon-Fri 10:00AM to 6:15PM
- Tues-Sat 7:30AM to 3:45PM (following initial training Mon-Fri)

The Day to Day
Media preparation involves following written recipes to make broths and agars to be used in microbiological testing of food and pharmaceutical products. Duties include:
- Manufacture of a wide range of Microbiology media.
- Quality Control of Media Preparations.
- Preparing orders on time and to specification.
- Receiving, unloading and storing laboratory stock
- General housekeeping including cleaning equipment and ensuring appropriate storage
The Essentials
- An affinity for working in a dynamic team environment.
- Well-organised, task-focused with attention to detail
- Good documentation skills, and effective written and verbal communications
- An aptitude for learning, though no previous scientific experience is required.
- Must be physically fit, as duties involve some lifting and carrying (up to 10kgs), standing for periods of time, and pushing and pulling of trolleys etc.
- A clear understanding of Health & Safety principles and practice, and a commitment to safe working
- Be willing to work a reasonable amount of paid overtime as needed
