Job description

Simon Hegele Healthcare Solutions Australia is in the business of improving and advancing healthcare by providing specialised installations for Medical Equipment manufacturers. Our knowledge and services allow our customers to focus on the research and development in order to advance the medical imaging and diagnostic technology while entrusting the complete assembly and setup of their equipment at medical facilities to us.

Quality and Teamwork are of the utmost important attributes that make Simon Hegele a successful company and we are looking to add to our team. We are looking for someone with a passion to be involved in the healthcare sector and a willingness to learn. You should enjoy precision work, be mechanically minded, work strongly in a team, strive for perfection and take pride in your work.  Customer satisfaction is of the utmost importance.

You will be required to undertake installations across Australia with the Melbourne Region as your home location. It is imperative that you can travel overnight without any restrictions and able to work within a hospital environment around imaging systems.  Installations typically occur from Monday to Friday, however weekend and public holiday work is sometimes required. Interstate work will usually involve travel on Sunday evenings and return Friday afternoons, but this depends on the system to be installed, location, flight schedules etc.  No two weeks will be the same.  If you are not comfortable travelling regularly and staying away for at least a week at a time, then this is not the position for you. There will be times when there are no jobs on and during that time you are not required to attend an office.

Initially you will team up with a lead installer and travel to medical facilities nationwide to install medical imaging systems (eg X-Ray, MRI and CT scanners) to develop your experience.  Ultimately you will become a senior team leader in selected systems.

To be successful in this role you need the following:

  • Mechanically/technically minded and hands on - mandatory
  • Willingness and ability to travel regularly - mandatory
  • Be willing to work some weekends/public holidays (many of our interstate installations begin on a Monday morning and as such there will be travel on Sunday afternoon/nights) - mandatory
  • Comfortable completing electronic paperwork
  • Strong teamwork
  • High degree of attention to detail
  • Open driver’s license (mandatory)
  • Passport (or ability to get one)
  • Ability to maintain vaccination status to meet Health Facility requirements across Australia including COVID 19, MMR, Pertussis (whooping cough), Varicella (chicken pox) and Hep B. - Mandatory
  • White card (or ability to get one) – Mandatory
  • Working with Children Card (or ability to get one) – Mandatory
  • Police Check - Mandatory
  • Experience within the Medical Sector would be highly regarded but not essential.

We are offering a competitive salary package (and increases as your skill set grows), downtime included to compensate you for weekend travel and work You will not be required to attend an office each day, but rather commute directly to each site as scheduled.

If this opportunity sounds interesting to you and you are ready to make a meaningful impact in our communities through a more effective healthcare system, then we’d like to discuss this role further.

The inclusion of a cover letter with your application outlining your reasons for applying and suitability for the role is strongly recommended.
