This is an exciting opportunity for mature, experienced and energetic Medical Secretaries with exceptional organisational office skills to join our busy Administrative Team in the Cancer Centre for Children at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead. Ideally, we are looking for applicants with a healthcare background who are comfortable working in a busy team environment and have the ability to multi-task. We have two temporary full time positions available, with the expectation of annual contract renewal. Business hours Monday to Friday, working alongside like-minded professionals within a busy Multidisciplinary Team environment. Perfect for someone living in the local area. What you'll be doing

The Cancer Centre for Children at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead is the largest childhood paediatric cancer department, with the busiest referral centre, in New South Wales.

The Medical Secretary provides a comprehensive range of high-level administrative/clerical services to support the achievement of the Cancer Centre for Children outcomes.

Experience working as a medical secretary in a busy healthcare environment.

Experience in audio transcription with a fast and accurate typing speed.

Strong administration, time management, problem solving and organisational skills with attention to detail.

Strong communication skills - written and verbal with the capacity to communicate effectively with doctors, staff, patients, other health care professionals as well as external stakeholders.

Strong computer skills at intermediate level (or above) and confident ability to use software systems

Knowledge of purchasing and invoicing procedures using electronic systems.

Ability to work independently, under pressure, and being a successful member of a multidisciplinary team.
