Job description

Athletics West is looking for an experienced Member Engagement Coordinator to join our team! The Member Engagement Coordinator is responsible for leading the engagement and development of Athletics West members, Centres and Clubs.

Responsible for working with members and their affiliated organisations to develop their governance practices, event and program delivery, people development and managing disputes. The Member Engagement Coordinator will be a liaison between the members and Athletics West.

The Member Engagement Coordinator will support the General Manager, Marketing and Community, and the CEO in building a positive and proactive culture through a set of shared attitudes, goals, behaviours and values to represent the brand of Athletics West.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES 
  • Engage with Athletics West member organisations to support their development and delivery of athletics services in WA. 
  • Manage Member and Centre communications and engagements.
  • Manage Member complaints and disputes.
  • Support the General Manager, Marketing and Community, and the CEO in the delivery of the Strategic Plan.
KEY DUTIES
  • Develop strategies for engaging Centres and Clubs Statewide to enhance their capacity to deliver the sport of athletics. 
  • Facilitate, manage and support member disputes, grievances and complaints. 
  • Work with Centre, Clubs and members to deliver development opportunities within committees. 
  • Communicate effectively with members, employees, government authorities, representative bodies, all other stakeholders and the public. 
  • Assure the Organisation and its mission, program, products and services are consistently presented in a strong, positive image to the public and relevant stakeholders. 
  • Formulate policies and planning recommendations to support members. 
  • Ensure integrity and accountability with the operations of the Organisation. 
  • Engage in the design, marketing, promotion, delivery and quality of programs, products and services as required. 
  • Engage in sponsorship and fundraising planning and implementation as required. 
  • Submission of grants as required and provision of grant writing education to members. 
  • Represent the Organisation as required through attendance and submissions at events, conferences and meetings. 
  • Other duties as determined by the General Manager, Marketing and Community and the CEO from time to time. 
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
  • Ability to elicit cooperation from and work with a range of people/stakeholders. 
  • The ability to plan and prioritise work and maximise the use of internal and external resources to achieve outcomes. 
  • Demonstrated experience in a Member services role or similar. 
  • Demonstrated experience in facilitating and managing conflict resolution, dispute resolution and grievance procedures. 
  • Proven experience in establishing and managing diverse relationships with Metropolitan and Regional settings. 
  • Demonstrated experience working with volunteers in a not-for-profit environment. 
  • Competencies in policy and procedure development and implementation within a sport governance structure. 
  • Strong communication skills. 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a broader team. 
  • Ability to build relationships and manage stakeholders. 
  • A current 'C' class WA driver's license.
  • National police clearance.
  • Working with Children Check. 
DESIRABLE CRITERIA
  • Knowledge of the sport of athletics
  • Relevant qualification in sports management, recreation, or education. 
  • An understanding of the community sports landscape in WA. 
  • Sports Management / Business Degree
  • Sports Marketing / PR / Communications Degree
