We are part of the Virgin group of companies worldwide and launched our Australian business in 2008 with one club, five studios and a dedicated team of just 50 people. Today, we have a team of nearly 1,000 people and we're building a collection of iconic locations in Sydney and Melbourne.
Situated in the Met centre above the bustle of Wynyard station, you could be anywhere as soon as you step inside Virgin Active Margaret Street. With an expansive layout covering 2,531 sqm, this club features a collection of sleek, custom-built studios for Grid Training (HIIT), Yoga, Barre and Cycle, with an additional studio space for your more traditional group classes. You'll also find dedicated cardio, strength and functional training areas, stocked full of the best equipment from across the globe.
About the gig:
Reporting to the Club Manager, you'll lead the sales team to achieve targets and build relationships in the community. It's about planning and directing sales activities to ensure total member satisfaction.
In a nutshell:
- You'll plan and direct the activities of the sales team ensuring all are motivated to attain sales targets (prospect calling, retention calling, external activations and following up referrals and leads)
- You'll ensure a flawless experience for each new member by providing a non-intimidating sign-up process and a thorough set-up so they don't incur any bumps in their first attendance
- You'll partner with the Club Manager to negotiate major deals within guidelines, maintaining contact with key corporates and identifying and steering opportunities for further growth
- You'll report actual performance to budget, with variance analyses and revised projections
- You'll coach, develop and motivate the sales team to achieve agreed sales and saves targets
- You'll ensure every member has an exceptional leaving experience that is focused on providing relevant solutions and recommendations in order to increase save volumes
- You'll stay on top of sales admin to ensure seamless administrative processes
- You have 2+ years of relevant sales leadership experience, flexibility to work a non-traditional schedule and can readily obtain a clear Working with Children Check (if required). You may also have experience within the fitness sector. A+ for you
- You have aligned experience. You're an effective manager with strong leadership and motivational ability. You're comfortable with the entire sales cycle and thrive on exceeding performance targets
- You're nurturing and people focused yet driven to succeed and have a proven track record of delivering sales results
- You love thinking of creative ways to generate new business and build local relationships (you may also have some corporate sector experience)
- You have a can-do approach. You think on your feet. You're motivated to find solutions and always consider the business impact. You easily move between tactical work and big picture work
