ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a Men’s Behaviour Change Group Coordinator for our Men’s Behaviour Change Program (MBC). The program is for men who have perpetrated violence and are wanting to end their use of controlling and abusive behaviours in their relationships. The position is a part of the Domestic and Family Violence team within Mental Health and Wellbeing Directorate.

The role of group coordinator is integral to the MBC program as it offers a specialist response including comprehensive assessment, risk management, case management, and coordination of and facilitation of MBC group sessions. The Men’s Behaviour Change Group Coordinator applies feminist principles and deep understanding of the gendered nature of family violence into a client-centred approach, works with clients’ strengths, and draws upon a robust array of clinical practice models, skills, techniques, and modalities to promote perpetrator accountability.

ABOUT YOU

You will be passionate about working to reduce Domestic Violence by working with men who choose to use Domestic Violence to initiate a change. You are seeking a challenging and rewarding career in the domestic violence sector.

  • Tertiary qualifications in Social Work or other related disciplines.
  • Previous experience in family domestic violence service and or willingness to be trained in Men's Behaviour Change services.
  • Experience in the facilitation of groups is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated experience risk assessment and case management.
  • Knowledge and experience in early intervention and prevention program services.
  • The ability to work autonomously.

REMUNERATION

Community Health Centre (Stand Alone Services) Social and Community Service Employees Multi Enterprise Agreement 2022

Classification Level 4 or 5 dependent on experience
