Take a lead role in the delivery and ongoing management of commissioned Mental Health and AOD services across our catchment.

About the role

The commissioning of mental health and drug and alcohol services in the SEMPHN catchment represents one of the key priorities for the organisation. As such, SEMPHN is looking for an individual that can support the organisation’s work in transitioning and redesigning Commonwealth funded Mental Health and AOD services across the catchment.

The Mental Health /AOD Program Lead is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the commissioning process including the development, implementation, monitoring and support of commissioned Mental Health and AOD services.

The role will work closely with other internal teams and external stakeholders to support all aspects of the service development and our commissioning framework. This includes working collaboratively with our stakeholders and consumers to support the commissioning of Mental Health and AOD services through phased strategic and project planning.

To effectively drive this change, the Mental Health /AOD Program Lead will be required to work autonomously and effectively with various stakeholders and be flexible, adaptable and open to new ideas and changed priorities. It is expected that you will build and maintain strong relationships with external stakeholders to facilitate change in delivering services and building the capacity of providers to work within the Mental Health and AOD sectors.

It is essential that the Mental Health /AOD Program Lead brings to the role a strong understanding of the AOD and/or Mental Health sector.

If you have the following, then we'd love to hear from you:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in either clinical, health science or social sciences or experience in the AOD and/or Mental Health sector.
  • Demonstrated experience in health and community service programs including commissioning of health services.
  • Experience in working with a range of health care providers including General Practices, Nurses, and Allied Health Providers, consumers and provider organisations.
  • Proven ability to identify innovative solutions and influence outcomes to meet agreed objectives.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills with the ability to analyse issues and provide advice upon which decisions can be based that meet organisational priorities.
  • Demonstrated experience in influencing, negotiating and engaging positively with provider organisations to achieve agreed deliverables and contractual obligations.
  • Strong stakeholder relationship management skills to support effective systems change with improved health outcomes.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead discrete pieces of work and escalate issues appropriately.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills and experience working with databases and shared networking platforms.
