Mental Health Clinician - Custodial Forensic Youth Mental Health Service

This multidisciplinary role and is open to Grade 2 or 3 Occupational Therapists, Social Workers and Psychologists (Clinical/Forensic), and Grade 3 or 4 Registered Psychiatric Nurses. In this role, you will:
- Provide clinical Mental Health assessments and treatment to young people in youth justice custody, including appropriate discharge planning, care team liaison and age-appropriate referrals to support their transition back into the community
- Work collaboratively and feel very supported by our experienced and skilled clinical & medical staff and engage with our key-stakeholders from youth justice (YJ) and other service providers (Primary Health Services)
- Be based at either the Parkville or Cherry Creek Youth Justice Precinct. As such, travel to the workplace destination can be included within the working hours.
Orygen Specialist Program (OSP), is a program of the Royal Melbourne Hospital, that provides specialist Mental Health services for young people aged 15 to 25 and focuses on providing early intervention to young people with severe and complex mental illness.
Custodial Forensic Youth Mental Health Service (FYMHS) plays an essental role in providing specialist youth Mental Health care in youth justice custodial settings including the Parkville and Cherry Creek sites.
About you:
- Collaborative, compassionate, creative and supportive Mental Health Clinician who enjoys providing responsive and flexible Mental Health service delivery to young people.
- An individual who enjoys working as part of a multi-discipinary and diverse team to deliver high quality treatment, care and support.
- Sound theoretical skills, experience and knowledge of evidence based clinical assessment, formulation and Mental Health treatment modalities.
- Relevant registration and qualifications (see position description for details).
- Demonstrate experience in the application of clinical practice, particularly in youth Mental Health.
- Knowledge of the youth justice and/or criminal justice system and other relevant settings is desirable.
