Mental Health Clinician – Eating Disorders Stream

- Part Time, ongoing multidisciplinary role – OT2, SW2, P2 and RPN3
- Multiple roles based in Sunshine with satellite services covering Werribee, Melton
Orygen Specialist Program provides Mental Health services to young people aged 15-25 and their families/carers in Melbourne's northwest and western suburbs.
Our Eating Disorders Stream provides evidence-based interventions to young people experiencing severe Eating Disorders, and may present with a range of co-morbid Mental Health issues.
About your new role:
- Manage and undertake Mental Health and risk assessment, psychological treatment, crisis intervention, family work and systems containment, for the client/carers/system
- Provide high-quality clinical care based on clinical experience working with young people with serious mental illness
- Timely completion of Mental Health assessments including formulation, individual service plans, crisis management plans, outcome measures, documentation of client’s progress in client files, discharge summaries and contact sheets
- Provision of case management or family work to selected clients and associated documentation
- Manage clinical risk and actively work toward implementing risk reduction strategies
- Nurses will be required to undertake physical assessment and medical monitoring of clients attending the Eating Disorders stream
- Experience in clinical practice within the Mental Health field, including young people experiencing Eating Disorders
- Experience and expertise in providing acute Mental Health care management and/or Eating Disorder management
- Ability to develop, implement and evaluate client-centred individual service plans, risk assessments and diagnostic formulations
- Knowledge of the rationale and evidence for early intervention in mental illness
