Mental Health Clinician - Karratha, WA
Permanent and Contract roles available

We are proud to be partnering with a leading paediatric therapy service in the Northwest to recruit for a Mental Health Clinician on either a contract or permanent basis. They have proven success as a local regional allied health and Mental health provider, which is based on their understanding of the challenges to providing high quality care in remote Western Australia.
They are a multi-disciplinary team who are solutions focused and collaborate creatively to support children with a wide variety of needs. They are a registered NDIS provider and are committed to supporting choice and control.

The role
The Mental Health Clinician will deliver high quality specialised Mental health services for children and adolescents including conducting Mental health assessment (including home and community based), intervention, management planning and evaluation.

The role includes but is not limited to the following duties:

  • Providing evidence based individual and group treatment interventions for clients with complex problems and their families.
  • Analysing client needs to provide individual, group and team interventions and the development of treatment programs using culturally appropriate and evidence-based practice.
  • Implementing safe and ethical evidence-based therapies.
  • Engaging in multidisciplinary discussions to ensure best practice and quality intervention planning.
  • Functioning as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Participating in ongoing evaluation of clinical practice

About you

In order to be considered for the role, you will have at least 2 years' experience in a similar role along with:

  • Tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy or Social Work and current registration by the appropriate professional association.
  • General registration with the Australia Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) (If applicable).
  • Obtained, or eligible to obtain accreditation as a Mental health provider.
  • Demonstrated sound experience in assessment, case management and provision of therapy for clients and their families presenting with Mental health issues.
  • Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills including demonstrated ability to liaise effectively with other health professionals and external agencies both on individual client-management matters and on general service issues
  • Ability to work in a cross-cultural setting considering the social determinants, particularly as they relate to Aboriginal Health and Culture. (DESIRABLE)
  • Current Medicare provider number. (DESIRABLE)
  • Availability to travel across the region, including overnight stays. (DESIRABLE)
