The Merchandise Assistant role is responsible for the implementation and support of merchandise strategies, to enable Outback Stores locations to sell a range of products that deliver on commercial and social KPI’s. The Merchandise Assistant will conduct analysis of data, maintain system integrity, liaise with stores, and assist the Merchandise Manager in managing and maintaining the merchandise function.
Maintains effective communication with stores and internal stakeholders throughout Outback Stores.
Assists in generating the analysing weekly data, scrutinising unsatisfactory margins, sales and social metrics.
Assists in price administration duties.
Assists in evaluation of the marketing and store information together with historical data and forward trends to develop the department’s plans.
Conducts category reviews and implements agreed changes.
Conducts store audits to ensure Outback Stores core range is available at all stores.
Ensures category price integrity and validates against competition.
In conjunction with the Assistant merchandise manager, oversees the cost/sell item maintenance within Smart Retail and Group controller/HQ.
Assists in developing and maintaining key supplier accounts.
Carry out duties in accordance with Outback Store's safety, environmental and quality policy, safety principles, corporate values, Code of Conduct, and strategies.
Complete all tasks in line with Outback Stores Policies and Procedures.
Assist in the review of policies, procedures, documentation, and forms.
Apply required document controls.
Ad hoc administrative duties in line with experience as required.
Certificate III in retail.
Current driver’s license.
Hold (or able to obtain) Working with Children Check and National Police Certificate.
Two years plus administration or finance experience.
Proven experience in retail.
Ability to analyse data.
Sound problem solving skills.
Intermediate experience in Microsoft suite.
Experience in Grocery Manager POS advantageous but not essential.
