The idea for Hospitality Worldwide stemmed from our founders’ observation of substandard products that continue to ail the industry and since 2017, we have been Australia’s foremost distributor of cost optimised hospitality equipment.
We are currently looking for a qualified and experienced Merchandise Planner for our company.
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
Responsible to plan, develop and implement ‘best practice’ merchandise planning procedures to support the future growth of the business. You will provide analytical support to the buyingfunction, ensuring accurate statistical analysis and advice in order to deliver the budgeted sales, gross profit and return on inventory investment for the designated product category.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Analyse historical information, developing seasonal category plans, identifying market
opportunities to drive growth and determine product sales mix, stocks levels, retail prices
and margins.
Accurately forecast Customer sales by store and replenish as needed to meet optimal in-stock position and maximize Customer sales result.
Monitor and build financial sales, gross margin and inventory plans on a weekly basis at item level.
Create and implement pricing strategy by item that maximises sales and gross profit.
Regularly analyse inventory to identify fast and slow-moving stock.
Contribute to the weekly meetings by providing analysis and recommendations to achieve sales, gross profit and stock targets
Create allocation strategies, incorporating the merchandise plan and flow strategy to meet store inventory needs.
Create and plan product assortments (item, colour, size) for each product category.
Place orders for both seasonal and replenishment product buys.
Collaborate with cross functional departments, i.e. Marketing and Store Operations, to
ensure success of product.
Delivering key objectives through innovation, customer awareness and inventory
management
Building strong relationships with business partners and stakeholders
QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Our ideal candidate is an experienced Merchandise Planner with a Certificate III or higher plus two years’ mandatory full-time relevant work experience; or at least three years full-time relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications.
