What you'll be doing

  • Provide Drug and Alcohol specific assessment and short-medium term clinical case management, using evidence based methods in both individual and group approaches, to support clients to reduce their substance use and minimise related harms.
  • Work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders and partners, given the large geographic area and services.

About Buronga / Mildura
On the NSW side of the Murray River, Buronga is a beautiful rural town, just 10km from Mildura Victoria, many of our staff live in the booming regional hub of Mildura and travel the short 10 minutes to work. Mildura has a population of over 50,000 and growing with all the facilities of a regional city, yet is uniquely positioned in the scenic, sunraysia region, famous for its sunshine, and horticulture including grapes and oranges. While Mildura thrives as its own destination, it is also a great base for touring many iconic natural wonders and picturesque locations nearby including the world renowned Mungo National Park!
How to apply
To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the selection criteria in the application as thoroughly as possible.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications and registrations as required in Health, Social, or Behavioural Sciences or other relevant discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in Drug and Alcohol casework and well developed care management skills.
  • Knowledge of key issues, concepts and approaches used in the Drug and Alcohol field, including harm minimisation and relapse prevention.
  • Understanding of key issues and interventions for clients with co-existing mental health and substance issues.
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal, oral, written and computer communication skills including the ability to compile reports and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrates understanding of the Drug and Alcohol issues and needs of Aboriginal and CALD individuals, families and communities.
  • Proven ability to work effectively unsupervised and as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Current Driver’s Licence.
