Metal (Structural) Fabricator

We are seeking a skilled, motivated, and experienced Structural Fabricator to join the team and support our operations.

ROLE OVERVIEW

As a Cedar Steel Metal (Structural) Fabricator, your main responsibilities will include general fabrication and structural steel fabrication with some onsite installation work across both residential and commercial projects.

You will be required to produce finished goods timely and accurately, ensuring that all items meet our specifications and standards without compromising on safety or quality.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure sufficient task analysis are completed to carry work out safely.
• Perform assigned duties in a timely and safe manner.
• General fabrication duties including use of: grinding, cutting (friction and Gas cutting), welding (GMAW, TIG, stick), polishing, Cropping, Pressing, Heat Treatment and Stress Relieving of Steels.
• Prepare metal surfaces by cleaning with chemical solutions and wire brushes to remove impurities such as scale, rust, grease, and moisture
• Finishing products by cleaning, polishing, filing and bathing in acidic solutions
• Co-ordinate and work in a team environment.
• Maintain and use equipment as designed.
• Ensure that work is performed as per Job Cards or ITP’s and current schedule of works.
• Examining welds for width of bead, penetration and precision
• Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine job requirements
• Ensure all work is carried out to quality and specification requirements
• Daily timecards are completed accurately and on time.
• Assist in the management of a harmonious environment, team building and training of apprentices and other employees as required.
• Adherence to Company procedures always
• Other tasks and activities as directed

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

Essential:

• Trade qualified with a minimum of 3+ years relevant experience
• Ability to read, understand and interpret structural steel drawings including manufacturing/shop drawings and 3D models
• Unrestricted NSW drivers licence and able to drive manual vehicles
• OHS General Induction Card (Construction General Induction)

Desirable:

• High Risk Work License – Forklift Truck (LF)
• Basic riggers ticket
