The role & you
MidCoast Council is looking for a Meter Reader to join our team. The position will be responsible for undertaking water meter readings and other tasks associated with Council’s Water Billing functions, systems and processes.
Highly visible within the community with frequent interactions with customers makes this position both challenging and rewarding. It is a physically demanding role, with exposure to varying terrains and weather conditions on a regular basis, covering large distances on foot every day.

We are looking for candidates that have a great attitude and work ethic that enjoy working outdoors. To be considered to join our team, you will also have the following:
- Previous meter reading experience or demonstrated understanding of the position requirements
- Good fitness level and ability to walk long distances for extended hours
- Ability to work outside in all weather conditions (where safe to do so)
- Ability to plan and undertake work autonomously
- Excellent attention to detail
- Valid and unrestricted Class C Driver's Licence

The package: Commencing salary package circa $54,000 p.a. plus superannuation.
A commuting vehicle is available and will be discussed with the successful candidate.
Location: These positions will be based at our Administration Centre in Yalawanyi Ganya at 2 Biripi Way, Taree. You may also be required to be based from other Council sites across the MidCoast Council region.
Tenure: Permanent, Full Time.
