Microsoft Azure Cloud DevSecOps Engineer  | 9 month Contract + 2 x 12 month extension | State Government

Commencement Date     : Oct-Nov 2023 - 30/06/24 (+ 2 x 12 month extension)    

Location                            : Brisbane CBD (with WFH arrangements available)

Description:

Talent Street is looking for a Junior and a Senior Microsoft Azure Cloud DevSecOps Engineer for a large Queensland government department. The Microsoft Azure Cloud DevSecOps Engineer will support the project team in the development Microsoft based solution, utilising Dynamics 365 (Case Management/Customer Service), SharePoint, Power Platform, Azure Synapse Analytics and Power BI. They will also establish new, appropriately configured environment(s) including Azure Synapse Analytics workspaces and DevOps pipelines, and other necessary components, as required.

The Role Is Required To:

  • Implement automation and orchestration and regularly review/optimize CI/C processes and tools to reduce manual tasks.
  • On-board and streamline CI/CD processes for parts of the system that are currently not Continuously Integrated.
  • Monitor CI/CD practices across corporate IT and federated IT areas identifying opportunities to informally share knowledge, formally set/update standards or policies and leverage innovation between teams.
  • Work closely with IT Applications and Operations teams in the both the corporate IT unit and federated IT areas to ensure improvements in both capabilities and practices are embedded in the organisation.
  • Participate in application and product architecture discussions, contributing to the development of reliable, secure, maintainable and cost-efficient (whole of life) solutions .
  • Work closely with the Senior Azure Cloud DevSecOps Engineer, Solution Architect, cybersecurity engineers, senior software engineers and senior test analysts and IT support personnel in a federated IT environment to drive industry CI/CD best practices.
  • Work closely with vendors to integrate disparate configuration management practices into cohesive CI/CD pipelines enabling automated releases in a dynamic software development, integration development, external agency system integration (including identity brokers/providers), COTS/SaaS solution configuration and complex mixed- user environment (internal staff, external agency staff, external organisations and citizens). 
  • Apply infrastructure knowledge to contribute to practices/topics such as Load
  • Balancing, Security Groups, API Gateways, DBMSs, DNS configuration, etc. 
  • Work with technical stakeholders to plan and migrate existing on-premise products to cloud based equivalents 
  • Monitor and manage capacity and participate in planning & configuration of production and non-production environments across both Azure.
  • Provide advice to on cloud DevOps principles, practices and options 
  • Create, maintain and contribute to relevant technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, design documents, and project plans.
  • Be a strong advocate for a DevSecOps culture across development and operations teams within an organisation with a federated IT structure .
  • Writing code and completing code reviews, scripting (python, power shell, bash, etc.) 
  • Share knowledge with technical project resources to assist them to gain and improve the necessary skills and knowledge to embed in the “business as usual” team.
  • Provide technical support during the testing and deployment phases of projects.
  • Help create an innovative and creative team culture, capable of developing advanced technologies.

About You:

  • Minimum 3-5 years experience (depending on junior or senior position) as an Azure Cloud DevSecOps Engineer for medium and large sized business applications.
  • Minimum 1-3 years (depending on junior or senior position) designing CI/CD in Azure DevOps pipelines
  • Minimum 1-3 years experience (depending on junior or senior position) with Infrastructure as code
  • Azure Resource Manager (ARM) / Bicep Templates
  • Minimum 1-3 years’ recent experience (depending on junior or senior position) with
    • Azure Data – Synapse, Data Factory
    • Azure Integration – Function Apps, Logic Apps, APIM
    • D365 – Dataverse and Customer Service
    • Power Platform,
  • Demonstrated experience with:
      • Developing CI/CD with dependency adjacent projects in various states of delivery.
      • Working with technology and business stakeholders and supporting their respective standards, patterns and strategies.
      • Ensuring technical implementations are compliant with architectural, security and technology standards.
      • Developing technical documents in a format that technical audiences can understand.
      • Working with business and technology stakeholders and supporting their respective requirements, standards, patterns and strategies.
      • Effective written and oral communications skills.
      • Working within an Agile program/project environment.
      • Working with Product Managers, Product Owners and Delivery Teams working on projects for medium and large sized business applications.
      • Experience in large-scale digital transformation projects.
  • Relevant Microsoft Certifications, such as those below, or equivalent experience are highly desirable:
        • Azure Solutions Architect Expert
        • Power Platform Solution Architect Expert
        • Cybersecurity Architect Expert
