Microsoft - Data & AI Pre-Sales Consultant

As a Data & AI Pre-Sales Consultant in the DXC Practice for Microsoft, you will be instrumental in shaping and driving the growth of our Data and AI solutions for our clients across the Australia and New Zealand region. This role blends deep technical expertise with a keen understanding of customer needs and market trends. This role can be based anywhere in Australia, with Brisbane being preferred. 

Primary Responsibilities & Objectives: 

  • Collaborate with Sales Leads and DXC Industry Account Teams: Work closely with the Sales agents to integrate Microsoft data platform and AI technology solutions into diverse business environments, aligning with client needs and business objectives. 
  • Client Engagement: Engage with clients to understand their unique challenges. Showcase how Microsoft Data and AI technologies can be customised to meet their specific business requirements. 
  • Innovative Solutions Development: Lead the development of innovative solutions with a focus on Generative AI technologies. Utilise emerging trends to create unique client value through advanced applications of Microsoft's cloud, data platform and AI offerings. 
  • Collaboration with National Director Data & AI: Partner with the National Director Data & AI to develop sales strategies with organisational goals, ensuring strategic and cohesive technology implementation. 
Skills & Capabilities: 

Educational and Theoretical Foundations 

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field with relevant work experience. 
  • Understanding in Applied Mathematics including Linear Algebra, Probability Theory and Statistics, Multivariate Calculus, Algorithms and Optimization. 
Technical Proficiencies 
  • Strong programming skills in Python, Java, Scala; knowledge of data visualisation tools like Matplotlib, ggplot, or D3. 
  • Understanding of Machine Learning algorithms and libraries like TensorFlow, Pytorch, and scikit-learn. 
  • Experience with Neural Network Architectures, System Design, Data Warehousing, ETL Tools, and Data Ingestion Tools. 
  • Experience with cloud platforms, particularly Azure. 
  • Understanding of Vector Databases and Parameter-Efficient Fine-Tuning (PEFT) techniques in context with large language models and complex data structures. 
AI and Generative AI Specific Skills 
  • Proven experience in AI and Data transformation projects, preferably with Microsoft technologies. 
  • Prompt Engineering: Skills in crafting effective prompts for AI models, including understanding of prompt components and techniques for improving model output accuracy. 
  • Understanding of RAG: Knowledge in combining information retrieval with text generation models, particularly for knowledge-intensive tasks. 
Soft Skills and Continuous Improvement 
  • Strong communication, collaboration, executive-level networking, and customer-centric skills. 
  • Ability to support business development initiatives and drive continual personal and professional improvement. 
  • Continuous Learning and Adaptation: Stay up-to-date with the latest tools and technologies in AI/ML, ensuring our solutions and approaches remain at the forefront of the industry. 
  • Communication and Teamwork: Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential, as the role involves working with cross-functional teams. Executive-Level Networking: 
  • Established engagement skills with a customer-centric approach: A strong customer-centric approach with the ability to identify and articulate business value. 
  • Business Development: Ability to support new sales opportunities and lead the technical pre-sales of business development initiatives.  
  • Attributes: Self-sufficient, confident, and organized, with a strong drive for continual improvement.
