Hours of Duty: 8.30 – 3.00pm (Parent and team meetings will occur outside of these times)

We are seeking innovative teachers across Years 8-9 who can provide:
An engaging personalised learning program that;
Seeks genuine dialogue to challenge students to raise their own questions
Fosters creative, innovative and critical thinking skills
Embeds conflict resolution skills (restorative practices)
Seeks solutions to real world challenges and
Explores student interests and passions through real world learning
To deliver this we use 'The Silkwood Way’ learning design, a unique teaching and learning framework delivered through four learning programs that give students the opportunity to learn in group, individual and personalised ways.
Personal Interest Learning Program: A project-based program focused on exploring students' personal interests and passions and connecting these to real-world learning.
Essential Learning Program: An individualised program focused on mastering English and Math skills needed for success in the 21st century. Teachers will need to have the necessary skills and knowledge to teach English and Mathematics for the year levels in their assigned learning community.
Exploring Program: A year level developmental program focused on age-appropriate content and experiences to support students with:
Expanding their understanding about our natural and cultural world
Building their capacity to be a performer, artisan, maker, sportsperson and enterpriser
Discovery Program: An individualised program planned to progress students with their physical, social and emotional capabilities whilst building a learning and team culture with their advisory class.

Project-based learning, where you place the student, their needs and interest at the centre of your program planning
Building professional relationships with both colleagues and students, who love to call you by your first name
An ability to implement scaffolding and differentiated practices across a range of learning needs
Working with the whole student by implementing social and emotional learning opportunities
