The Company
This internationally recognised Tier 1 mining firm has been operating in the Bowen Basin for around 35 years producing coal from their active open-cut coal mine with a remaining lifespan of circa 30 years.
The Role
Reporting to the Commercial Manager you will be heavily involved in all aspects of operational accounting on the mining site, with particular emphasis on partnering with all key site based relationships and ensuring the successful preparation, review and delivery of results.
This role will be residentially located on-site with the following key responsibilities:
- Contribute to the preparation of operating and capital budgets;
- Monitor, analyse and report on cost performance against budgets / forecasts;
- Undertake variance analyses on production costs and capital expenditure;
- Ensuring timely and accurate month end ledger close, and entry of site sourced inputs; and
- Providing assistance to all levels of management with cost control, cost reduction.
The Candidate
- Tertiary qualifications in accounting, commerce;
- Experience working within mining & resources;
- 3+ years accounting experience;
