Minara Resources has an opportunity for an experienced Mine Technician - Geology to join our established and dedicated team on a fixed-term contract.Minara Resources is Australia’s largest cobalt producer and a major world producer of nickel. Our Murrin Murrin site in WA’s northern Goldfields is an integrated nickel and cobalt mining and processing operation employing over 1,000 people. The successful person will become a member of a hardworking and committed team who are responsible for assisting the Mining Geology and Production Departments in the definition of ore and waste removal at both the nickel/cobalt and calcrete mines at Murrin Murrin Operations (MMO).You will be responsible for:

• Ensure sufficient drill collar set out and drilling consumables are available for the drilling contractor for continued operation
• Ensure sufficient ore mark-up for each of the pit excavators for continued operation;
• Mark out of ore/waste blocks;
• Set out drill collars and pin flags for drilling;
• Accurate validation of drill samples;
• Enter validated sampling data;
• Load drill samples onto trailers in a timely fashion;
• Take ownership of any allocated projects;
• Participate in field activities for near mine exploration work;
• Ensure geology consumables always in stock;
• Maintenance of mark-up equipment;
• Ensure Geotech vehicles are sufficiently stocked at all times;
• Participate in review and improvement of procedures; and
• Complete tasks as required by the geology team.

About You
This role would suit an individual looking for a team orientated environment where you will have the opportunity to work autonomously and be challenged positively,You will also have:

• Year 10 secondary education (with aptitude for science subjects preferred);
• WA ‘C’ class drivers licence;
• Strong customer service focus;
• Ability to work unsupervised;
• Able to work as part of a team and foster team building;
• Ability to train and pass on knowledge;
• Work with attention to detail; and
• Work safely and not create or ignore hazards.
