The successful person will become a member of a hardworking and committed team who are responsible for assisting the Mining Geology and Production Departments in the definition of ore and waste removal at both the nickel/cobalt and calcrete mines at Murrin Murrin Operations (MMO).You will be responsible for:
- Ensure sufficient drill collar set out and drilling consumables are available for the drilling contractor for continued operation
- Ensure sufficient ore mark-up for each of the pit excavators for continued operation;
- Mark out of ore/waste blocks;
- Set out drill collars and pin flags for drilling;
- Accurate validation of drill samples;
- Enter validated sampling data;
- Load drill samples onto trailers in a timely fashion;
- Take ownership of any allocated projects;
- Participate in field activities for near mine exploration work;
- Ensure geology consumables always in stock;
- Maintenance of mark-up equipment;
- Ensure Geotech vehicles are sufficiently stocked at all times;
- Participate in review and improvement of procedures; and
- Complete tasks as required by the geology team.
This role would suit an individual looking for a team orientated environment where you will have the opportunity to work autonomously and be challenged positively,You will also have:
- Year 10 secondary education (with aptitude for science subjects preferred);
- WA ‘C’ class drivers licence;
- Strong customer service focus;
- Ability to work unsupervised;
- Able to work as part of a team and foster team building;
- Ability to train and pass on knowledge;
- Work with attention to detail; and
- Work safely and not create or ignore hazards.
