- Build and maintain strong relationships with underwriters, practice leaders, claims personnel and client service teams
- Assist in the Design, Planning and implementation of clear and effective renewal and broking strategies as required
- Possess and apply a good understanding of Property / Engineering / General Liability and Motor classes of insurance and keep abreast of all new technical and product developments through attendance at company and industry training events
- Possess and apply a thorough working knowledge of all aspects of the Insurance (Agents & Brokers) Act, Insurance Contracts Act, Fire Services Levy, Stamp Duties, Worker's Compensation, GST, key Trade Practices Act provisions and other relevant legislation and keep abreast of all new developments
- Work within and across the region to support new business growth and assist in the development of new products
- Keep abreast of changing market conditions and informs practice client servicing teams, and/or clients of major developments affecting various types of coverage.
- Ideally, a minimum of five years’ experience within a broking, underwriting or placement position
- A solid understanding of risk management and major classes of insurance (Property, Liability and Motor) would be highly regarded
- Exceptional communication, influencing, and negotiation skills
- Relevant Broking qualifications (Tier 1 Compliance) and tertiary studies are desired
