MMA Placement Broker - VIC

As part of this position, you will manage the placement of existing and new business while serving as a key negotiator and problem solver in obtaining the most appropriate placements based on our client needs. Providing a value-add service to client service teams you will use your expertise in the market to leverage the best possible solutions for clients.

We will count on you to:

• Build and maintain strong relationships with underwriters, practice leaders, claims personnel and client service teams
• Assist in the Design, Planning and implementation of clear and effective renewal and broking strategies as required
• Possess and apply a good understanding of Property / Engineering / General Liability and Motor classes of insurance and keep abreast of all new technical and product developments through attendance at company and industry training events
• Possess and apply a thorough working knowledge of all aspects of the Insurance (Agents & Brokers) Act, Insurance Contracts Act, Fire Services Levy, Stamp Duties, Worker's Compensation, GST, key Trade Practices Act provisions and other relevant legislation and keep abreast of all new developments
• Work within and across the region to support new business growth and assist in the development of new products
• Keep abreast of changing market conditions and informs practice client servicing teams, and/or clients of major developments affecting various types of coverage.

What you need to have:

• Ideally, someone with 3-4 years' experience within a broking, underwriting or placement position
• A solid understanding of risk management and major classes of insurance (Property, Liability and Motor) would be highly regarded
• Exceptional communication, influencing, and negotiation skills
• Relevant Broking qualifications (Tier 1 Compliance) and tertiary studies are desired.
